Modern electronic pop songs rarely have big choruses. They only have some cut’n’paste instrumental pieces where the chorus used to live. I think it’s boring! I think artists aren’t trying hard enough. I find it really hard to get excited about such lame excuses for a chorus. I certainly try to write choruses that are bigger than the verses, and if possible, bigger than life. That’s hard, and I don’t always succeed. But it seems to me that producers and artists don’t even try. They just settle for that wiggly noise, some oohs and aahs, and call it a chorus. Fuck that! Gimme bigger, melodic, vocal choruses, so that I can sing along!
