It’s such a pleasure to look at whatever Alan Walker is involved in. Every Alan Walker music video is amazing, and for a scifi fan like me, this kind of surreal videos are a treat. The video plays homage to the NoCopyrightSounds origins of all three artists. As all three artists are fans of each other, and their careers are somewhat interlinked, this is a natural collaboration. I believe that one of the goals of this collaborative release is to cross-pollinate the fanbases of each artist.
The roots of this song date back to 2013, when Ahrix released Nova through NoCopyrightSounds. It has gone through many iterations to get to this point. It sometimes takes many re-releases to get a song heard. In this case, the song was rearranged by adding a vocal line and a bunch of other new production tricks that elevate the track to whole new heights.

The song builds on Ahrix’s 2017 hit, Nova. Basically End of Time is Nova with vocals. I thought that glissando synths were an Alan Walker thing, as he uses them a lot on his songs, but it seems that Ahrix is also a heavy user of the gliding sounds.
I’m not a big fan of the lyrics. In the context of the song, which is what really matters, they sound mostly okay, but “Always and forever” – really? It’s almost as embarrassing as in the Bon Jovi song “Come On Up To Our House“, where Jon sings “I wish tonight would last forever and it would never end”. Nitpicking, yes, but I hate lazy writing.
I think that all of these artists have released better songs on their own, but it’s nice to see these guys rooting for each other. Whatever the driving force behind this project may have been – a marketing campaign or a genuine will to support peer artists, it turned into a nice track. End of Time also proves the old saying that everything is a remix.
